Extracellular Enzyme Activities and Their Stoichiometric Characteristics in Subtropical Soils Under Different Land-Use Types

Abstract
Land-use change,as a primary human activity,greatly influences soil extracellular enzyme characteristics and indirectly regulates soil biogeochemical cycling.This study examined subtropical forest,orchard,and cropland soils to investigate soil extracellular enzyme activities and their stoichiometric characteristics under different land-use types.The results showed that the activi-ties of cellulose hydrolase(1.95 nmol·g-1·h-1)and β-N-acetylglucosaminidase(96.05 nmol·g-1·h-1)was higher in orchard soils.The acid phosphatase activity in forest soils was 2.89 and 2.46 times higher than that in orchard and cropland soils,respectively.Soil nitrate nitrogen and available nitrogen were identified as key environmental factors influencing extracellular enzyme activ-ities.The enzymatic C∶N∶P stoichiometric ratios were 1∶1.24∶2.05,1∶1.40∶1.50,and 1∶0.84∶1.92 in the forest,orchard,and cropland soils,respectively,with vector angles over 45° across all land-use types,indicating phosphorus limitation.The higher vector length(1.31)of cropland soils indicated carbon limitation.Therefore,subtropical land-use change markedly alters soil extracellular enzyme activities and their stoichiometric characteristics,providing a scientific ba-sis for sustainable land management in subtropical regions.关键词
