Abstract

[Objective]As an emerging coffee producing region in China,Guangxi has devel-oped a characteristic industry primarily focused on coffee cultivation and processing based on its unique geographical and climatic conditions,and its advantageous location adjacent to ASEAN.This study aimed to systematically assess the development trends of Guangxi's coffee industry,ex-plore optimization pathways,and provide theoretical references for scientifically planning coffee in-dustry development in Guangxi and the country.[Method]Based on the data collected through mul-tiple methods including field research,literature analysis,and questionnaire surveys on the Guangxi coffee industry chain and offline consumer preferences,a SWOT-PEST matrix was constructed,which was used to comprehensively analyze the internal strengths/weaknesses and external opportu-nities/threats across four dimensions,that is,government,economy,society,technology aspects,clarifying the internal/external conditions,market demand characteristics,and core constraints of Guangxi coffee industry development,leading to the proposal of differentiated development strate-gies.[Result]The study reveals that Guangxi coffee industry benefits from government support,geographical advantages,emerging coffee culture and initial industry chain establishment,while capitalizes on policy incentives,market potential,and technological innovation.However,it also has shortcomings and challenges,including insufficient interdepartmental coordination,low value-addition in the industry chain,low brand recognition,technological standardization gaps,interna-tional market volatility,intense competition,and climate change.[Conclusion]Comprehensive analysis of consumer preference analysis and macro consumption data indicated that localization,health orientation,and scenario-based experiences will be crucial for future coffee market expan-sion.Accordingly,four strategic recommendations are proposed:(1)Growth-oriented strategies:to leverage policy and geographical advantages to formulate comprehensive industry chain plan-ning,achieving value-addtion across"cultivation-processing-trade"through scientific and efficient approaches.(2)Defensive strategies:to strengthen technological innovation and talent cultivation,to promote stress-resistant varieties and standardized technologies to enhance the industrial resil-ience.(3)Transitional strategies:to drive mid-downstream development through consumption up-grading,creating"Guangxi-flavor"products and coffee-tourism integrated business models.(4)Di-versification strategies:to develop innovative models like"coffee+cultural tourism"and"coffee+health"to enhance the brand storytelling capabilities.
