摘要

Abstract

[Objective]As a distinct ecotype of Cunninghamia lanceolata,red-heart Chinese fir possesses high economic value.However,the genetic variation patterns of its growth and wood property traits remain incompletely elucidated,severely constraining its breeding,genetic improve-ment,and intensive cultivation.This study aimed to dissect the genetic variation and heritability of main growth traits in red-heart Chinese fir progeny,conduct comprehensive evaluation and selec-tion of superior families,and provide essential germplasm resources and a theoretical foundation for advanced-generation breeding and targeted genetic improvement.[Method]Progeny test plantations of red-heart Chinese fir in Rongjiang River Basin of Guangxi were investigated.Using one-way ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test,the genetic variation patterns and heritability of main growth traits,tree height,diameter at breast height,and individual tree volume in the 132 families grown in Sirong(SR),Sanfang(SF),and Siying(SY)provenances were systematically analyzed.[Result]SY provenance exhibited significantly better growth of red-heart Chinese fir than SF(P<0.05),with the mean tree height,diameter at breast height,and individual tree volume of 14.72 m,14.69 cm,and 0.1415 m3,respectively.Heritability of all the tested traits exceeded 0.45,with tree height showing the highest heritability of 0.605 3~0.737 6,followed by individual tree vol-ume of 0.526 2~0.610 8,and diameter at breast height the lowest of 0.465 2~0.474 2.SF prove-nance displayed the largest coefficients of variation(CVs)for tree height(25.71%),diameter at breast height(29.12%),and individual tree volume(67.55%),while SR and SY showed similar CVs.Tree height and diameter at breast height were strongly positively correlated with volume(P<0.01),indicating that the growth in height and diameter directly determine the individual tree volume.[Conclusion]The growth of red-heart Chinese fir progeny in Rongjiang River Basin varied significantly.Based on the genetic gain threshold>10%for the individual tree volume,48 superior families were selected,and SR contributed the highest proportion of 56.3%.
