木薯及相关产物产业专利布局与发展态势分析
Analysis of Patent Layout and Development Trends in Cassava and Related Products In-dustry

Abstract
[Objective]Because of lacking systematic quantitative analysis of the cassava in-dustry's patent system in existing research,this study aimed to reveal the spatiotemporal evolution patterns,technological competition landscape,commercialization bottlenecks,and hotspots cluster-ing of the patents in global cassava and related products and provide a reference for future technolog-ical optimization and policy-making for the industry.[Method]Based on the patent data of global cassava and related products from 2005 to 2024 in the IncoPat database,with"cassava"(in Chinese and English)as the main keywords for retrieval,after screening and noise reduction,patent analy-sis tools and data processing software were used to conduct a systematic analysis of patent landscape and development trends from the dimensions of development trends,geographical patterns,techno-logical landscape,institutional competitiveness,authorization and transfer,and hotspots clustering.[Result]The analysis results showed that the global cassava related patents exhibited a single-peak trend of"slow rise-steady growth-technological explosion-sharp decline-slow decrease",and the trend in published patents generally was consistent with this pattern.The global geographical pat-tern of cassava was centered around China,presenting a"one superpower and multiple strong play-ers"pattern.In China,a spatial distribution characterized by a stronger presence in the south and a weaker presence in the north was observed.Cassava-related technologies were concentrated in the post-processing fields such as A23L(food processing,26.0%),A23K(feed,13.5%),and C05G(fertilizer,11.4%),while cultivation technology(A01G,5.8%)remained weak.The applicants were mainly from Chinese universities and research institutions(occupying 7 of the top 10),and they focused on basic research.US-funded enterprises mainly focused on deep processing patents,reflecting the differences in the"academic-driven"and"market-driven"paths.The number of patent grants grew in a spiral upward trend,while the volume of patent transfers remained persistently low.Patent clustering hotspots were concentrated in cassava starch modification,cassava residue re-source utilization(feed/biomaterials),while cultivation,breeding and pest control technologies ac-counted for a relatively small proportion.[Conclusion]The global cassava industry's technological innovation showed an unbalanced trend of"emphasizing processing and neglecting cultivation",with bottlenecks such as low patent conversion rate,insufficient regional collaboration,and weak front-end technologies.Therefore,the following suggestions were proposed:strengthening the core patent layout in cultivation breeding,enhancing the efficiency of patent conversion through"indus-try-university-research"collaboration,balancing the technological gap in major production areas through international cooperation,and deepening the innovation in high-value starch and by-product utilization to promote the sustainable development of the entire industrial chain.关键词
