摘要

Abstract

Aim:To summarize clinical,imaging and neuropathological features of chronic lymphocytic inflammation with pontine perivascular enhancement responsive to steroids(CLIPPERS).Methods:Clinical data of 5 CLIPPERS patients from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from 2016 to 2023 were summarized.Results and Conclusion:The clinical manifestations of the 5 patients were vertigo,ataxia and other symptoms,and the head MRI showed typical pep-per-and-salt-like enhanced lesions,and a large number of T lymphocytes formed a circumferential infiltration around blood vessels were found pathologically,3 cases met the diagnostic criteria both clinically and pathologically.The symptoms and images of the 5 patients were significantly improved after treated by steroid,but 3 patients relapsed after drug withdrawal.CLIPPERS have unique clinical,imaging and neuropathological features.If tumor cannot be ruled out,brain biopsy is con-sidered for the definitive diagnosis.Steroid pulse therapy can improve symptoms effectively,however,premature discontinua-tion of steroids is prone to recurrence,so it requires long-term therapy.
