Abstract

A lightweight ultra-high performance concrete(LUHPC)material,which has the advantages of light deadweight,high strength,and good cracking resistance,etc was developed.The steel-LUHPC composite box beam bridge was formed by stacking prefabricated LUHPC bridge deck panels and steel box girders,which can further reduce the deadweight of the bridge and improve the bridge spanning capacity.In order to clarify the bending capacity of the steel-LUHPC composite box beam bridge,two steel-LUHPC composite box beams were designed and fabricated,in which the and axle were located in the LUHPC deck plate and steel box girder,respectively,and the bending performance and damage mode of the steel-LUHPC composite box beams were obtained through the four-point bending and loading test,and the graphical diagrams of the combined girder cross-section stress were proposed and the formula for calculating bending ultimate bearing capacity of the steel-LUHPC composite box beams were deduced.The calculation formula of flexural ultimate load capacity of steel-LUHPC composite box beam was derived.The results show that the cross-section strain of the steel-LUHPC composite box beam conforms to the assumption of flat cross-section,and the loading process is divided into three stages:elastic stage,yielding stage and damage stage,and the damage mode is the tensile yielding of the steel box and the compression collapse of the upper surface of the LUHPC plate.The formula for calculating the flexural ultimate load capacity of the steel-LUHPC composite box beam is proposed,and its calculation results match the test results with the errors of 0.2%and 1.7%,respectively,which verifies the correctness of the formula.The research work provides theoretical and experimental basis for promoting the application of LUHPC materials in bridge engineering.
