Calibration of target reliability index of RC structures for corrosion-initiation limit state in atmospheric environment

Abstract
Regarding the issue of determining the target reliability index value for the initial rust durability limit state of RC structural steel bars in general atmospheric environments,referring to the current standard for determining the target reliability index of bearing capacity limit state,the corresponding durability probability control level was determined through calibration method combined with analogy method.Firstly,based on the carbonization depth prediction model and carbonization depth database,the probability characteristics of the uncertainty coefficients of each model were calculated.Secondly,the Monte Carlo method was used to determine the implicit reliability indicators of each model design.Finally,the target reliability index for this stage was determined by analogy with the reliability index of the initial rust durability limit state of steel bars adopted by existing scholars.The research reveals that the target reliability index for the durability limit state of reinforcement corrosion initiation in atmospheric conditions is 0.9,indicating that the values adopted by current codes and scholars are overly conservative.This finding offers a theoretical probabilistic foundation for the durability design concerning the corrosion-initiation limit state of steel reinforcement in atmospheric conditions,and provides a data basis for the target reliability indices of other environment and the remaining durability limit states.关键词
