A Study on the Use of Electronic Cigarettes and Its Influencing Factors Among Adolescent Students in Dezhou City
摘要
Abstract
Objective To understand the current status of electronic cigarette use among adolescent students in Dezhou City and analyze the influencing factors of e-cigarette use,in order to provide empirical evidence and data reference for relevant departments to formulate e-cigarette control strategies. Methods A survey was conducted among 1 505 students from nine schools in Dezhou City from September to October 2023.A multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method was employed.Single-factor chi-square tests and multiple logistic regression analyses were used to analyze the influencing factors of e-cigarette use among adolescent students in Dezhou City. Results The survey results showed that the rate of ever using e-cigarettes was 2.33%,and the current use rate of e-cigarettes was 0.40%.Gender,age,school type, disposable pocket money, and whether the school had a smoking ban had a significant impact on e-cigarette use(P<0.05).The results of the multiple logistic regression analysis indicated that gender, school type, and disposable pocket money were the main factors influencing adolescents'use of e-cigarettes.Conclusion The rate of e-cigarette use among adolescent students in Dezhou City was lower than the national average level of middle school students. However,it was still necessary to strengthen education on the harms of e-cigarettes and smoking control measures. It was recommended that comprehensive smoking bans be implemented in schools, and stricter regulation of e-cigarette marketing be enforced.Schools, families, and society need to work together to reduce the rate of e-cigarette use among adolescents.关键词
