Industrialized Cultivation Techniques for Shoot-Producing Dendrocalamus brandisii Forest

Abstract
Dendrocalamus brandisii is an excellent shoot-producing bamboo species,with high economic value.At present,D.brandisii is planted on a relatively small scale and short of standardized cultivation techniques.This results in low bamboo shoot yields that cannot meet market demand.Based on the practical production experience in Yunnan province,the paper summarizes the high-yield cultivation techniques for shoot-producing D.brandisii forest,which can provide references for the construction of large-scale production bases.The industrialized development of shoot-producing D.brandisii forest should be promoted in plots with suitable climate,fertile soil,sufficient sunlight,convenient transportation,and water sources.The seedlings should be robust cuttings or split seedlings with strong growth and reproduction ability and without pests and diseases,and should be planted at a reasonable density(26-33 clusters/ha).Through scientific field management and pest control measures,D.brandisii shoots can have increased yield by 30%to 40%.After 4 years of planting,stable and high yields can be achieved,with considerable economic benefits,i.e.,a net income of nearly 20 000 yuan/ha.The high-yield cultivation techniques for D.brandisii can be promoted in its suitable planting areas.关键词
