Abstract

In the study,polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride(981-PHMG),silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)and zinc oxide/polyethylene antibacterial masterbatch(ZnO/PE20)(the effective content of ZnO is 20%)were added to polybutylene terephthalate(PBT)as antibacterial modifiers,and the antibacterial PBT materials were prepared by physical blending modification method,which gave the polyester materials better antibacterial function.A series of modified PBT materials were prepared by adjusting the type and amount of antimicrobial agents,and the thermal stability,mechanical properties and long-term antibacterial properties of the modified PBT were further studied.It was found that the performance of PBT materials modified with organic antimicrobial agents was much higher than that of PBT materials modified with inorganic antimicrobial agents.The temperature of the organic antimicrobial agent PHMG and the PBT material with 981-PHMG with a mass fraction of 2%was as low as 375.1℃,the tensile modulus was as low as 268 GPa,the antibacterial rate was more than 99%.However,the maximum temperature of PBT material with 2%mass fraction of inorganic antibacterial agent AgNPs and 10%ZnO/PE20 at 5%thermal loss was only 362.8℃,the highest tensile modulus was only 2.66 GPa,the antibacterial rate was more than 99%.
