Effects of different visual factors on mate-seeking behavior of Histia rhodope
摘要
Abstract
To clarify effects of different visual factors on mate-seeking behavior of adult Histia rhodope,plastic-sealed specimens or color cardboard models of H.rhodope female were suspended in a net room set up in field.The positioning rate of H.rhodope male to the plastic-sealed specimens of female H.rhodope at different distances,the number of visits to female specimens with different wing states and wingspan sizes,and the number of visits to seven types of wing color cardboard models of the female were determined through behavioral observation experiments.The results indicated that there were significant differences in the positioning rate of male to female at different distances,and the location rate decreased significantly with the increase of distance.The number of male visits to unfolding wing female specimens was about 27 times,which was significantly higher than that to folding wing female specimens(approximately 12 times).The number of visits to large wing specimens(about 46 times)was significantly higher than that to medium wing and small wing specimens(approximately 40 times and 31 times,respectively).Male visited the seven wing color models of female and the number of visits was significantly different,while the number of stopovers was not significantly different.The distance of male using vision to search for mates was about 30 cm,and female could not be successfully located when the distance was more than 30 cm.Male showed a significant preference for the unfolding wing and the large wing specimens of female,and also showed a significant color preference for purple,red,green and black.The results can provide a theoretical basis for further revealing the mate choice mechanism of H.rhodope and its prevention and control.关键词
