Abstract

The main bridge of the Anhui section of the Hefei-Xinyi railway,spanning the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway,is constrained by the existing Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway and the connecting Dingyuan station.The design of the main bridge must simultaneously meet requirements including structural safety,minimal impact on the existing railway,aesthetic appearance,low main girder height,low construction difficulty,and economic efficiency.During the design process,four bridge types were studied and compared:steel box truss composite continuous beam bridge,partial cable-stayed bridge,steel truss arch bridge,and T-shaped concrete rigid frame bridge.The recommended option was the 2×72 m steel box truss composite continuous beam bridge.The main girder of the bridge was designed as a fish-bellied flat steel box composite beam.To reduce the girder height and mitigate fatigue damage,a steel-concrete composite bridge deck was employed.The main girder height was 2.5 m,which reduced the alignment elevation by approximately 3 m compared to a concrete swivel T-shaped rigid frame bridge.The steel truss beam utilized a triangular truss with variable height design.The arc-shaped main truss offered a prominent visual effect,giving the bridge a slender and graceful appearance.In order to reduce future maintenance frequency and minimize impact on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway,weathering steel was used for both the steel box girder and the main truss members.To avoid the risk of bolt falling in the future,the steel beams and main truss members were connected using full welding.The main bridge was constructed using the swivel construction method,with a swivel weight of approximately 8 000 t.During the swivel process,balanced supports were installed to ensure structural safety,and the risks during swivel construction were controllable.
