Antifoaming performance and industrial application validation of sterically hindered amine desulfurization solvent

Abstract
This study investigates the foaming properties of sterically hindered amine desulfurization solvent in natural gas purification processes when exposed to oil,salts,and solid particulate impurities,aiming to assess their antifoaming performance and conducted industrial application experiment of sterically hindered amine desulfurization solvent in natural gas purification plants.By simulating polluted conditions,a foaming experiment device with a nitrogen flow rate of 400 mL/min and a water bath temperature of 40℃was used.Various proportions of produced water from gas fields,as well as particulate impurities of different concentrations and sizes(such as ferrous sulfide and activated carbon),were added to the sterically hindered amine desulfurization solvent.The foam height and defoaming time were measured and recorded.When exposed to oil-containing produced water and large particulate impurities,the sterically hindered amine solution showed excellent antifoaming performance,with foam heights consistently below 5 cm and defoaming times significantly less than 5 seconds,outperforming traditional reference solvents.The sterically hindered amine desulfurization solvents significantly enhance the antifoaming properties of amine solutions through multiple mechanisms.Industrial application trials further verified the long-term antifoaming performance of the sterically hindered amine desulfurization solvent.The superior antifoaming capability of the sterically hindered amine desulfurization solvent effectively mitigates foaming issues during natural gas purification,thereby improving production efficiency and providing strong support for its industrial application.关键词
