摘要

Abstract

A new methanol distillation process utilizing low grade heat was proposed and demonstrated.This new process is featured by,firstly,interconnection of five distillation columns,i.e.precolumn,high pressure column,atmospheric column,vacuum column and recovery column.The high-pressure column and atmospheric column are parallel connected,followed by vacuum column and then recovery column.The high-pressure column and atmospheric column are designed as double-effect columns,all of which utilize low grade heat as reboiler heating energy.Secondly,the vacuum column has been equipped an inner heat exchanger at proper position enabling the use of lower grade heat,for example,the heat from the atmospheric column top condenser.Thirdly,an ejector is applied to generate vacuum.Fourthly,the high performance heat exchanger is use to reduce the temperature difference.The novel process was demonstrated in a 500 kt/a methanol distillation system,which reduced the steam consumption from 1.0 to 0.2 t steam/t methanol.This new process also yields methanol of improved purity,Moreover,this new process offers a high flexibility and increases the productivity by 20%.
