Abstract
Elucidating protein-protein interactions remains a major challenge in structural bioinformatics,with signi-ficant implications for drug design and protein engineering.While numerous prediction methods based on physico-chemical properties have been developed for protein-protein interaction interfaces,studies investigating the relation-ship between codons and these interfaces remain scarce.To address this gap,a novel metric is first proposed,the In-terface RSCU Rate(IRR),to quantify synonymous codon preference for interface residues.Subsequently,by calcu-lating the Relative Interface Codon Usage(RICU)and MinMax values,the usage patterns of individual codons and codon pairs across the entire dataset are further studied.Statistical analyses revealed"distinct"codons and codon pairs exhibiting marked interface preference,demonstrating that genetic codon usage influences the composition of protein interaction interfaces.关键词
