Corporate ESG Responsibility and the Formation of New Quality Productive Forces:Research on the Impact Based on Exogenous Heterogeneity and Pathway Mechanisms

Abstract
At present,China is in a stage of striving to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,and it is urgent to get rid of the path dependence of traditional economic growth.The proposal of new quality productive forces has pointed out the direction for achieving high-quality development of the real economy.In this context,this study takes corporate ESG responsibility as the starting point to analyze its impact on the formation of new quality productive forces in enterprises.Research has found that fulfilling corporate ESG responsibilities can significantly promote the formation of new quality productive forces,and play a role through three channels:upgrading human capital structure,optimizing corporate resource allocation,and enhancing business resilience.Moreover,heterogeneity analysis based on exogenous factors shows that companies located in regions with stronger labor cost shocks,higher levels of digital finance development,and stronger government environmental regulations have a better promotion effect of ESG responsibility on new quality productive forces.In addition,the expansive analysis also found that there is a threshold effect in the process of promoting the formation of new quality productive forces through ESG responsibility in the digital transformation of enterprises.The economic consequences test found that the level of new quality productive forces enhanced by the promotion of corporate ESG responsibility can significantly contribute to the high-quality development of enterprises.Finally,this study also examined the impact of corporate ESG sub responsibility on the formation of new quality productive forces,and found that corporate responsibility in the environmental protection(E)dimension had the greatest promoting effect on improving the level of corporate new quality productive forces.This study provides a practical approach characterized by corporate ESG responsibility to promote the formation of new quality productive forces in enterprises,and provides policy implications for promoting high-quality development of enterprises and developing new quality productive forces according to local conditions.关键词
