Abstract

Creativity-helping behavior as an important factor for organizations to establish competitive advantages and achieve sustainable development.This study takes 777 questionnaires matched in three stages as samples.It explores the influences of different matching conditions and levels of employees'creativity consistency between name and reality and inconsistency between name and reality on employees' creativity-helping behaviors and their internal mechanisms based on face theory and self-verification theory from the employees' creativity reputation-creativity fit perspective by using polynomial regression and response surface analysis.The study shows that employees' creativity consistency between name and reality has a U-shaped relationship with creativity-helping behaviors,inconsistency between name and reality has no significant relationship with creativity-helping behaviors,and both have a U-shaped relationship with creativity-helping behaviors through competence face stress.High organizational-based self-esteem strengthens the relationship between creativity inconsistency between name and reality and competence face stress and the role of competence face stress in the relationship between creativity inconsistency between name and reality and creativity-helping behaviors;low organizational-based self-esteem strengthens the relationship between creativity consistency between name and reality and competence face stress and the role of competence face stress in the relationship between creativity consistency between name and reality and creativity-helping behaviors.The results of this study reveal the process mechanism of employee creativity-helping behaviors from the employees' creativity reputation-creativity fit perspective,deepen the study of creativity-helping behaviors in the local context,enrich the exploration of personal characteristics in interpersonal interaction of creativity,and have a guiding value for organizations and managers to take measures to stimulate employees' creativity-helping behaviors.
