Research Progress on the Regulation of Energy Homeostasis and Feeding Behavior in Animals Under Cold Stress
摘要
Abstract
Cold stress is one of the important factors that restrict the development of the livestock industry in northern cold regions.Prolonged exposure to low-temperature environments can seriously harm the physiological health and production performance of animals,and in extreme cases,it can even lead to death.In cold environments,animals increase their feed intake to maintain energy balance,which results from the interaction between feeding behavior,energy expenditure,and the energy storage in adipose tissues.This article reviews the relevant research on how cold stress affects animal feeding through energy homeostasis from four aspects:hypothalamic neurons,changes in leptin levels,fatty acids,and volatile fatty acids(VFA)in the rumen.The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms by which cold stress influences animal feeding and to provide a reference for future related studies.关键词
