Abstract
The patriotic health campaign in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China was a key practice of the Communist Party of China in integrating public health governance with social mobi-lization.The patriotic health campaign carried out in Anhui Province from 1952 to 1955 was confronted with not only the direct threat of the deterioration of the urban and rural sanitary environment and the bacteriological warfare of the US military,but also from the practical challenge of traditional superstitious ideas hindering scientific epi-demic prevention.In practice,Anhui Province had achieved a deep integration of health governance and political mobilization through measures such as establishing a hierarchical health and epidemic prevention system,conduc-ting mass patriotic health publicity and mobilization,and developing locally distinctive approaches to health gov-ernance.The effectiveness of the campaign was reflected not only in the significant improvement of urban and rural environmental hygiene and the reshaping of the public's scientific health perceptions,but also in the strengthening of the legitimacy of the new regime through the extensive participation of the public.It provided practical experi-ence for the construction of the public health system in the context of the socialist system and laid a solid founda-tion for the subsequent regular development of the patriotic health campaign.关键词
