Advances in the biological characteristics and control techniques of the Moroccan locust Dociostaurus maroccanus(Thunberg)
摘要
Abstract
Dociostaurus maroccanus(Thunberg),commonly known as the Moroccan locust,is a major pest species distributed across the Mediterranean,Caucasus,and Central Asia.Owing to its polypha-gous feeding habits,high reproductive capacity,and strong migratory ability,it has caused extensive damage to grasslands and cereal crops across nine countries,including Kazakhstan,Kyrgyzstan,and Tajikistan.This review summarizes current knowledge on the taxonomic status,geographical distribu-tion,biological and ecological characteristics,monitoring and early warning systems,and control mea-sures of D.maroccanus.Furthermore,it assesses the potential invasion risk and likelihood of establish-ment in China.The findings aim to provide a scientific basis for early warning and integrated management of D.maroccanus,thereby supporting ecological security and sustainable agricultural production in China.关键词
