Screening,identification and control efficacy of biocontrol strains for controlling cucumber Fusarium wilt

Abstract
To screen biocontrol microbial resources for controlling cucumber Fusarium wilt,the plate confrontation method was adopted to screen antagonistic strains against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cuc-umerinum.Morphological,physiological and biochemical,and molecular biology identification were performed.The effects of these antageonistic strain on spore germination of F.oxysporum f.sp.cuc-umerinum and cucumber seed germination,antibacterial spectrum,and extracellular hydrolase produc-tion characteristics were determined.Additionally,the biocontrol effect was evaluated through pot and field experiments.The results showed that the strain Sneb2570 with strong antagonistic activity against F.oxysporum f.sp.cucumerinum was screened from 88 bacteria maintained in our laboratory,with an inhibition rate of 61.64%.Strain Sneb2570 was ultimately identified as Bacillus velezensis.This strain significantly inhibited spore germination of F.oxysporum f.sp.cucumerinum.It did not affect the germi-nation of cucumber seeds,but promoted the growth of radicles.Simultaneously,it exhibited inhibitory effects against six other plant pathogenic fungi.Additionally,the strain Sneb2570 was found to produce protease,phosphatase,and amylase.Root irrigation with the fermentation broth of strain Sneb2570 pro-moted the growth of cucumber seedlings.The control effects of Sneb2570 fermentation broth against cucumber Fusarium wilt disease in potted and field treatments were 44.12%and 45.24%,respectively.Collectively,strain Sneb2570 can be further developed and utilized as a promising biocontrol agent for controlling cucumber Fusarium wilt.关键词
