The Role of Agricultural Technological Innovation in Restructuring Staple Grain Cultivation:Mechanisms and Spatial Effects

Abstract
Based on the provincial panel data from 2010 to 2021,this study employs the entropy weight method to construct an index of ag-ricultural technological innovation,and uses a fixed effects model to analyze the mechanisms and spatial spillover effects of such innovation on the proportion of staple grain cultivation.The results were showed as follows.(1)Agricultural science and technology innovation has significant-ly increased the proportion of staple grain cultivation,and the spatial spillover effect is positive;(2)The results of heterogeneity analysis show that agricultural science and technology innovation has a greater impact on the central region and major grain-consuming areas;(3)The mecha-nism analysis found that agricultural science and technology innovation can increase the proportion of staple grain cultivation by promoting la-bor transfer,improving agricultural mechanization and increasing the per unit yield of grain.Therefore,the fiscal budget for agricultural science and technology research and development of staple grains should be further increased,the level of agricultural mechanization should be im-proved,and the investment in agricultural science and technology innovation in the central and western regions should be adjusted and strength-ened.关键词
