Liu Likun's approach to managing treatment-induced menopausal symptoms in breast cancer endocrine therapy through the lens of"deficiency,stagnation,and fire"

Abstract
For breast cancer patients with hormone receptor-positive status,endocrine therapy is an indispensable step in the treatment,yet its adverse effects,particularly treatment-induced menopausal symptoms(TIMS),pose significant challenges,especially in premenopausal women due to estrogen suppression.Professor Liu Likun interprets TIMS through the lens of"deficiency,stagnation and fire".Guided by the principles of"tonifying the deficient"and"draining the excess",her therapeutic strategies include modified Erzhi Wan(Double Supreme Pill)or Longgu Muli Decoction Plus Chaihu(Os Draconis and Oyster Shell Decoction plus Bupleurum).Key approaches encompass:nourishing nutritive qi to harmonize defensive qi,dispersing stagnation with acrid medicinals,clearing pathogenic heat before tonification,and resolving phlegm and stasis.Emphasizing root treatment by replenishing liver-kidney yin while addressing branch manifestations like qi stagnation,fire-heat,and phlegm-stasis,this method demonstrates notable clinical efficacy.关键词
