Abstract

The deformation and failure mechanism of landslides is the foundation of landslide prevention and emergency management.The Chenjiawan landslide in Pingshan County belongs to a typical alluvial and proluvial sandy soil accumulation landslide in the reservoir area where a large-scale sliding occurred at the end of 2021.This paper takes the Chenjiawan landslide in the Xiangjiaba reservoir area as an exam-ple,and uses on-site geological drilling,high-density electrical geophysical exploration,and PFC2D nu-merical simulation methods to conduct an in-depth research on the deformation and failure mechanism of the landslide in the alluvial and proluvial sandy soil layer.The research shows that the Chenjiawan land-slide is a creep-tension type landslide caused by traction deformation,the weak interlayer formed between the sandy soil layer and the clay layer as well as that between the sandy soil layer and the bedrock,pro-vides an effective sliding surface for the sliding of the landslide;the combined effect of continuous earth-quakes and rainfall is the main cause of sliding failure in the landslide,and seismic action on the sandy soil layer landslide body structure also has obvious damage.Continuous rainfall infiltration leads to a sharp decrease in the strength of the sliding surface,resulting in large-scale deformation of the landslide.
