Abstract
Legend of the Firing of the Cannon is excerpted from the"Six Books of the Spring and Autumn".Its text is one of the earliest known versions that records the term"Six Books of the Spring and Autumn",and the titles of the six books documented in it also appear in other literary sources.Through textual collation with other documents,it can be seen that Legend of the Firing of the Cannon contains both content inherited from previous generations and original innovations—this conforms to the general law of story circulation.This story mainly spread in the Jianghuai region(covering present-day Jiangsu and Anhui provinces),where multiple rewritten versions were formed.By comparing it with these rewritten versions,it is confirmed that the Buyunge-printed edition of Legend of the Firing of the Cannon does contain abridgments,and there must be a more complete ancestral text.关键词
