Abstract

To fully utilize the flexibility within industrial steam power generators,a virtual energy storage scheme tai-lored for industrial steam power generators is proposed for the first time.Under this scheme,an energy storage system is integrated with industrial steam power generators to construct a virtual energy storage system(VESS),leveraging the fast power regulation capability of energy storage to compensate for the ramp-up during the upward and downward pro-cesses of industrial steam generators.Furthermore,a capacity configuration method for the energy storage system under the virtual energy storage scheme is provided,which designs the capacity of the energy storage system according to the required power and energy during the upward process of the generator towards the maximum generation power.In addi-tion,an internal power control strategy for virtual energy storage is put forward,under which the charging and discharg-ing of energy storage is controlled to meet the flexibility service requirements during the upward and downward process-es of the internal generator.Finally,a case study is used to validate the effectiveness and economy of the proposed VESS scheme.The results of sensitivity analysis indicate that the impact of variations in the flexibility market price on the promotion of the VESS scheme is minor,while the technical advancement and cost reduction of energy storage are more beneficial for its applications in the future.
