Abstract

Eastern Hebei Province is one of China's key iron ore production regions.In recent years,due to shallow mineral extraction and human activities,ground magnetic survey data in the region have often been contaminated,which has resulted in distorted anomaly curves and limited the indication for ore body exploration.This study focused on the application of low-altitude UAV aeromagnetic surveys in iron ore exploration in Eastern Hebei.It described the geological characteristics and current exploration status of the region,and introduced the composition and working principles of low-altitude UAV aeromagnetic systems.Two typical case studies were selected:①Dashihe iron ore deposit in Qian'an(with exposed bedrock,surface mining,severe damage);②Changning Iiron ore deposit in Luannan(with thick Quaternary cover of 330-660 m,significant anthropogenic interference from villages).Low-altitude UAV aeromagnetic surveys were conducted in these two areas.After data processing and analysis,the magnetic anomaly ΔT intensity increased by nearly 200 nT compared to conventional 1∶25,000 aeromagnetic data,with more pronounced details and minimal ground-based interference.Drill holes have confirmed the presence of deep,thick ore bodies.At the Dashihe iron deposit,multiple ore bodies(No.Ⅰ~Ⅲ)were delineated,which have added inferred 60.695 million tons of iron ore resources.At the Changning iron deposit,the drill hole ZK19-1 intersected orebodies with a true thickness of 34.82 m.These results achieved the goals of"increasing reserves and production"and marked a breakthrough in mineral exploration.The study demonstrates that low-altitude UAV aeromagnetic surveys offer significant advantages in improving the efficiency of iron ore exploration,reducing costs,and enhancing anti-interference capabilities.The prospects and limitations of this technology in iron ore exploration were discussed,which will provide important technical references for further deep resource exploration.
