Status and Prospects of Inductive Energy Storage Pulsed Power Modulation Technology

Abstract
The core of lightweight and high-performance operation of electromagnetic propulsion and directional energy equipment lies in the improvement of pulse power system indicators,but the technical indicators of traditional capacitive energy storage and its pulse power conversion methods are approaching their limits.Inductive energy storage pulse mod-ulation technology has broad application prospects in the field of pulse power supply due to its advantages of high energy storage density and fast energy release.This paper summarizes the basic principles,typical topology structures(super-conducting transformer type,XRAM type,and Meat Grinder type),and technical characteristics of inductive energy storage and pulse modulation technology.Comprehensive analysis shows that the combination of transformer topology with superconducting coil energy storage and XRAM scheme,as well as the introduction of Meat Grinder derived topol-ogy with inverse current commutation with semiconductor technology,is expected to become the mainstream technology route for high-power pulse power supply;however,it still faces technical challenges such as high power demand for pri-mary power supply and difficulty in cut-off of high currents.The future development directions mainly include high-performance superconducting coils and their refrigeration technology,high-voltage switching devices,design of auxiliary converter circuits and coupling circuits,multi-type topology combination and parameter optimization,etc.,so as to promote the engineering application of inductive energy storage and support the performance improvement of electro-magnetic propulsion and directional energy equipment.关键词
