Abstract
Objective To explore the effectiveness of using teacher standardized patients(TSPs)based on virtual simulation teaching in case-based instruction for a health assessment course.Methods Second-year undergraduate nursing students enrolled in the health assessment course were randomly assigned by student ID to an experimental group(n=29)and a control group(n=28)according to their order.The control group adopted the traditional case teaching method,while the experimental group used the TSP method based on virtual simulation teaching.After the course,their caring ability and communication ability were evaluated.Results After the course,the experimental group accessed the virtual simulation platform more frequently than the control group(t=8.26,P<0.01).Scores of caring ability and communication ability in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions The application of teacher standardized patients based on virtual simulation teaching in case teaching of health assessment course can improve the caring ability and communication ability of undergraduate nursing students,which is worthy of further promotion and application in nursing professional education.关键词
