Abstract

Objective To explorethe application effectiveness of a virtual simulation platform in midwifery practice teaching.Methods A total of 101 nursing students who chose the"Midwifery"course in the 2021 grade of our school were selected and assigned to an observation group(n=50)and the control group(n=51).The observation group received blended practice teaching that combined a virtual simulation platform with traditional practice teaching,while the control group adopted traditional teaching methods for practical teaching.Self-directed learning ability,theory knowledge and practice skills were assessed between the two groups after the course.Results The scores of learning awareness,learning behavior,learning strategy,learning evaluation and interpersonal skills in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of the observation group in the theoretical assessment and practical assessment were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions The blended practice teaching of midwifery based on the virtual simulation platform is conducive to improving students'self-directed learning ability and helps students master theory knowledge and practice skills,and has reference significance for promoting the reform and innovation of practical teaching.
