Association between"civilized eating"and health-related behaviors among college students in Chongqing
摘要
Abstract
Objective To assess the level of"civilized eating"among college students in Chongqing and to analyze its associa-tion with health-related behaviors,so as to provide evidence for improving students' dietary habits and health behaviors. Methods Using convenience sampling,a face-to-face questionnaire survey was administered to 1,945 students from seven universities in Chongqing. The questionnaire collected basic demographic information, scores on a university student"civi-lized eating"scale, and health-related behaviors.Multivariable logistic regression was used to analyze the association be-tween"civilized eating"and health-related behaviors. Results Differences in monthly drinking frequency were statistically significant across groups defined by grade,sex,only-child status, average monthly living expenses, parental education lev-el,BMI category, and"civilized eating"score grouping(P<0.05).Daily water intake differed significantly by sex,only-child status, average monthly living expenses, parental education level,BMI category, and"civilized eating"score grouping(P<0.05).Daily screen time differed significantly by grade, average monthly living expenses, and"civilized eating"score grouping(P<0.05).Daily physical activity time differed significantly by grade, average monthly living expenses,and"civ-ilized eating"score grouping(P<0.05).Daily sleep duration differed significantly by grade, average monthly living expen-ses,only-child status, and parental education level(P<0.05).Multivariable logistic regression showed that, compared with never drinkers, those who drank ≤1 time/month were less likely to be in the high"civilized eating"score group(OR=0.63,95%CI:0.51-0.78).Using daily water intake<500 mL as reference, students with>2,000 mL/day were more likely to be in the high-"civilized eating"score group(OR=4.97,95%CI:2.69-9.17).Using daily screen time of 1-<2 h as reference, screen time ≥5 h/day was associated with lower likelihood of belonging to the high-"civilized eating"score group(OR=0.38,95%CI:0.26-0.54).Using daily physical activity<0.5 h as reference, physical activity ≥2 h/day was associated with a higher likelihood of belonging to the high-"civilized eating"score group(OR=2.03,95%CI:1.23-3.36).Conclusion The proportions of college students in Chongqing with high and low"civilized eating"scores are similar."Civilized eating"level is associated with alcohol consumption, water intake, screen behavior, and physical activity. It is recommended that"civilized eating"be incorporated into comprehensive interventions for health-related behaviors.关键词
