福建省2种草地贪夜蛾卵寄生蜂的田间寄生状况调查
Investigation of the parasitism of two egg parasitoid species of Spodoptera frugiperda in the fields of Fujian Province

Abstract
[Objective]A survey was carried out in Fujian Province to investigate the field parasitism of Spodoptera frugiperda eggs by two parasitoid species,Telenomus remus and Trichogramma chilonis,aiming to clarify their roles as local natural enemies in natural pest control and to provide a reference for the protection and utilization of natural enemy resources against the Spodoptera frugiperda.[Method]From July to September 2022 and from July to October 2023,egg masses on maize plants were collected using the five-point sampling method from the fields in Changtai District of Zhang-zhou City,Minhou County of Fuzhou City,Sanyuan District of Sanming City,and Jianyang District of Nanping City,Fujian Province,and the collected egg masses were brought back to the laboratory.Observations on egg hatching and parasitoid emergence were conducted daily until all eggs within each egg mass had either hatched or all parasitoids had emerged.For eggs that neither hatched nor produced emerging parasitoids,the species identity of the dead individuals was determined through microscopic examination.The numbers of Spodoptera frugiperda egg masses and individual eggs,as well as the numbers of egg masses and eggs parasitized by the two parasitoids,were recorded,and the egg mass parasi-tism rate and egg parasitism rate were calculated.[Result]The investigation showed that two parasitoid species can parasi-tize Spodoptera frugiperda egg masses either individually or jointly.In the 4 sureyed areas of Fujian Province,the egg mass parasitism rates of the Spodoptera frugiperda by the two parasitoids ranged from 36.91%to 80.95%in 2022 and from 50.64%to 82.35%in 2023.Among the collected Spodoptera frugiperda egg masses,the single-species parasitism rate of Telenomus remus and the co-parasitism rate of the two parasitoid species were both higher than the single-species parasitism rate of Trichogramma chilonis.Within co-parasitized egg masses,the egg parasitism rate of Telenomus remus was significantly(P<0.05)or highly significantly(P<0.01)higher than that of Trichogramma chilonis.[Conclusion]The two egg parasitoids of Spodoptera frugiperda,Telenomus remus and Trichogramma chilonis,demonstrate effective natu-ral pest control in the field,with Telenomus remus exhibiting stronger parasitism capacity.关键词
