摘要
Abstract
This article reviews the current application status of five-day biochemical oxygen demand(BOD5)in environmental monitoring and the challenges encountered during its measurement process.BOD5 serves as an important indicator for assessing the degree of organic pollution in water bodies and reflects the pollution status and self-purification ability of water bodies by measuring the amount of dissolved oxygen required for decomposition of organic matter in water under microbial action.Thus,it plays an important role in environmental monitoring and protection work such as water quality assessment and adjustment of wastewater treatment processes.There are various methods for measuring BOD5,each with its own advantages and disadvantages,suitable for different monitoring requirements.However,the process of measuring BOD5 faces many challenges,To address these challenges,this article proposes strategies to improve measurement methods,enhance quality control,and optimize experimental conditions,thereby improving the accuracy and efficiency of BOD5 measurements.Looking to the future,BOD5 measurement methods will evolve towards being faster,more accurate,more automated and more intelligent,providing a more scientific basis for water environmental protection and sustainable development.关键词
