Effect of continuous nursing based on Swanson's care theory on mental well-being,self-perceived burden and loneliness in elderly patients with hemiplegia

Abstract
Objective:To explore the effect of continuous nursing based on Swanson care theory on mental well-being,self-perceived burden and loneliness in elderly patients with hemiplegia.Methods:A total of 89 elderly pa-tients with hemiplegia who were treated in our hospital from November 2023 to May 2024 were divided into observa-tion group(receiving continuous nursing based on Swanson care theory on the basis of routine nursing,n=45)and control group(receiving routine nursing,n=44).The differences of mental well-being,self-perceived burden,lone-liness and daily living ability between two groups were observed.Results:After intervention,the total score of mental well-being in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(t=2.208,P＜0.05).Af-ter intervention,the total score of self-perceived burden in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(t=3.692,P＜0.05).After the intervention,the total score of loneliness in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(t=9.538,P＜0.05).After the intervention,the observation group scored significantly higher than the control group in the daily living ability score(t=3.291,P＜0.05).Conclu-sion:Continuing nursing based on Swanson care theory can improve the mental well-being of elderly patients with hemiplegia,relieve self-perceived burden and loneliness,and has a significant positive impact on improving daily liv-ing ability.关键词
