Photo oxidation-adsorption performance of Ag-modified ZnO nanospheres toward iodide

摘要

Abstract

Ag/ZnO NSs,a composite material of Ag modified ZnO nanospheres with photocatalytic effect,was prepared.The microstructure,structure,phase composition,and chemical morphology of the samples were characterized,and their removal performance of iodide ions(I-)in simulated wastewater was studied.The nanocomposites exhibited high adsorption capacity(139.1 mg/g)and rapid adsorption kinetics of I-under light irradiation.Ag also showed good adsorption performance under the condition of neutral,weakly acidic,and coexisting with high concentration competitive ani-ons.Through analysis,the good adsorption performance of Ag/ZnO NSs toward I-was mainly at-tributed to the synergistic mechanism of photooxidation and adsorption.
