Research on Scheduling Personnel and Vehicles in Limited Capacity Parking

Abstract
To optimize passenger and staff boarding services at remote aircraft parking positions,the limited availability of resources(drivers,passenger stairs,and parking areas)necessitates improved scheduling for better resource utilization.By recognizing that passenger stairs do not require driver supervision when parked next to an aircraft,the scheduling of drivers and passenger stairs is separated.The problem is framed as a many-to-many pickup and delivery issue,accounting for multiple parking facilities and visit constraints.A personnel and vehicle scheduling model is developed based on business processes and solved using the Gurobi mathematical programming solver,validated against actual data from a hub airport in South China.Results show significant improvements in personnel transfer times:a reduction of 39%during off-peak periods,26%during average periods,and 32%during peak times.This strategy effectively addresses routing challenges posed by limited passenger stairs and parking capacities,meeting time-sensitive requirements and guiding dispatchers'decision-making.关键词
