Economic Comparison of AC and DC High-voltage Equipment in Offshore Wind Power Transmission Systems

Abstract
Aiming at the 2 000 MW transmission project of a certain deep and distant offshore wind power cluster,the economy of AC and DC high-voltage equipment is compared to provide an economically feasible solution for solving the problem of deep-sea offshore wind power transmission.Firstly,a typical sending system architecture containing±320 kV VSC-HVDC and 220 kV and 500 kV AC is constructed.Combined with key factors such as submarine cable parameters and converter station efficiency,the electrical loss calculation models of the AC and DC systems are established respectively to accurately quantify the proportion of electrical losses in the economy.Meanwhile,a refined full life cycle economic model is proposed,comprehensively covering multiple costs such as equipment investment,operation and maintenance costs,and failure losses.Moreover,economic evaluation indicators such as net present value and internal rate of return are employed to systematically and quantitatively assess the economy of AC and DC high-voltage equipment.After detailed comparative analysis,the economic advantages of both in the scenario of deep and distant offshore wind power transmission are clarified,and their cost-effectiveness is deeply explored.This provides a scientific basis for engineering and technical personnel to select AC and DC high-voltage equipment and make economic decisions in deep and distant offshore wind power transmission projects,promoting the efficient,economic and sustainable development of the deep and distant offshore wind power industry.关键词
