Abstract

An image encryption technology based on Chua chaotic circuits and Base64 encoding is presented,aiming to address the security risks and low encryption efficiency faced by traditional image encryption algorithms during public communication channel transmission.The core idea of this technology lies in image data being converted into an ASCII character stream through Base64 encoding,and then the chaotic sequence generated by the Chua chaotic circuit being used to perform scrambling and diffusion operations on the character sequence,thereby efficient and secure image encryption being achieved.To elaborate,first,Base64 encoding is implemented on the image Convert its binary data into an ASCII character sequence to facilitate subsequent encryption operations.Then,the Chua chaotic sequence is iteratively generated using the 4th-order Runge-Kutta method,and this sequence is further is mapped to a specific range for scrambling and diffusion operations.Data randomness is enhanced in the scrambling operation through character positions being rearranged,while encryption security is improved in the diffusion operation through character index values being modified.The encrypted character sequence is restored to an image by Base64 decoding.Simulation tests are conducted using MATLAB R2021a.The results show that this encryption technology has performance advantages.The information entropy of the ciphertext image is close to 8,and the pixel value distribution is close to an ideal uniform distribution.The probability of each pixel value occurring is almost the same.In the correlation coefficient test,the correlation coefficients of the ciphertext image in the horizontal,vertical,diagonal,and anti-diagonal directions are all close to 0.The statistical features of the plaintext image are successfully hidden by the encryption algorithm,making it difficult to distinguish the ciphertext image from random noise.Compared with traditional encryption algorithms,encryption efficiency is improved by this method while data security is ensured,and is particularly suitable for platforms with limited computing power.The image encryption technology performs well in both security and practicality,providing an innovative and effective solution for the field of image encryption.
