Abstract

In this study,a new type of ultra-high-strength reinforced reactive powder concrete(RPC)shaft lining structure was proposed for the purpose of addressing the support challenge in"one-pass drill-ing(expansion)shaft construction"for deep vertical shafts in western China.Firstly,the similarity cri-terion of ultra-high-strength reinforced RPC shaft lining was derived based on dimensional analysis,and a triaxial loading and testing system of shaft lining models was set up.By taking the C70 high-strength reinforced concrete shaft lining as the control group,similar model tests were performed with the aid of the constructed system to unveil the mechanical properties and failure characteristics of this new type of RPC shaft lining structure under standard curing and autoclave curing conditions.The results show that,compared with the circumferential strain of the C70 high-strength reinforced concrete shaft lining,that of the ultra-high-strength reinforced RPC shaft lining increases by about 82.97%-119.02%,corresponding to the typical ductile compressive-shear failure mode.Under the action of external load,the compressive strength improvement coefficient of RPC in this new type of shaft lining structure reaches up to 1.226-1.339.Afterwards,the strength criterion of ultra-high-strength RPC and the calculation formula of com-pressive strength improvement coefficient were established under the guidance of the Bresler octahedral stress theory,and the calculation formula of ultimate bearing capacity of this new type of shaft lining was constructed by integrating the dimensional theory and the regression analysis method.Finally,based on the quantitative analysis on influencing factors,it is concluded that the reinforcement ratio makes a limited contribution to the improvement of ultimate bearing capacity of this new type of shaft lining.Ad-ditionally,under the same conditions,using this new type of ultra-high-strength RPC140 lining material instead of the C70 high-strength reinforced concrete can raise the bearing capacity of the shaft lining by 69.3%and the supported depth by 65.1%.The research results of this study have important engineering application value for realizing the rapid construction of deep vertical shaft lining in western China.
