Abstract

Taking the aluminum resources under coal in Xingxian County,Lyuliang City,Shanxi Prov-ince as the research object,the instability and disaster mechanism of bauxite pillars under overlying re-sidual coal pillars and their influencing factors were systematically studied by means of theoretical analy-sis,physical model experiments,and numerical simulation.The research results indicate that the width of overlying residual coal pillars and the spacing between coal and aluminum layers are key factors af-fecting the stability of bauxite pillars.To be specific,when the spacing between coal and aluminum lay-ers is small,the bauxite pillar group is prone to high stress concentration and impact instability due to the superposition effect of stress concentration on the overlying residual coal pillar floor,pillar stress concen-tration,and advanced support stress.In contrast,when the spacing is greater than 18.5 m or the width of residual coal pillars is greater than 40 m,the stress concentration effect of bauxite pillars is noticeably reduced,and the stability is improved.These findings clarify the dynamic variation law of stress concen-tration in bauxite pillars under residual coal pillars.Since the actual minimum spacing between coal and aluminum layers in a certain mine in Xingxian County is 28.2 m,it is considered safe to mine the baux-ite layer downwards.An analysis was conducted on the instability mechanism of bauxite pillars under o-verlying residual coal pillars when the mining of bauxite pillars approaches the boundary of these coal pillars.The analysis discloses that,if the pillar group under the old goaf cannot effectively share the load,chain instability of the pillar group and nearly 45° oblique shear failure in interlayer rock layers may occur.Finally,safety prevention and control measures under coal and aluminum co-mining condi-tions were proposed,providing theoretical support and engineering reference for the safe and efficient mining of complex coal-aluminum stacking resources.
