Abstract

Objective To explore the mediating effect of innovative behavior between occupational coping self-efficacy and evidence-based nursing competence among nurses.Methods From October to November 2023,a total of 291 nurses from 5 hospitals in Hefei and Bengbu,Anhui Province,were selected by convenience sampling as research subjects.The General Information Questionnaire,the Occupational Coping Self-efficacy Scale for Nurses,the Innovative Behavior Scale,and the Evidence-Based Nursing Competence Scale were applied to conduct the investigation and a structural equation model was constructed.Results The score of occupational coping self-efficacy,innovative behavior and evidence-based nursing competence 34.00(30.00,37.00),26.00(22.00,30.00),and 54.00(38.00,67.00)respectively.Occupational coping self-efficacy was positively correlated with innovative behavior and evidence-based nursing competence(r=0.378,0.496,P<0.01),and innovative behavior was positively correlated with evidence-based nursing compe-tence(r=0.405,P<0.01).Innovative behavior played a partial mediating role between occupational coping self-efficacy and evidence-based nursing competence,with an effect value of 0.148,accounting for 27.6%of the total effect.Conclusion Nurses in this group show moderate to high level of occupational coping self-efficacy,and moderate level of innovative behavior and evidence-based nursing competence.Innovative behavior plays a partial mediating role between occupational coping self-efficacy and evidence-based nursing competence.Nursing managers should prioritize the development of nurses'occupational coping self-efficacy and stimulate innovative behavior so as to enhance evidence-based nursing competence and promote the sustainable development of the nursing discipline.
