Abstract

For the optimal economic operation of a pump station with parallel operation of different models of mixed-flow pumps,three mixed-flow pumps types were used as the research objects.By ana-lyzing the relationship among their operating efficiency,pump flow rate,head,and blade angle,the operating points of the pumps were determined.A double-layer optimization model was used to study the economic operation of the pumping station.The first layer was the economic optimization model of the pumping station.With the minimum energy consumption as the objective function,the particle swarm optimization algorithm and the genetic algorithm were used to conduct an optimized analysis of the optimal flow distribution among the units,the optimal operating combination,and the optimal ope-rating conditions of the units.On the basis of the first layer,the second layer took into account the in-fluence of time-of-use electricity price changes on the economic operation of the pumping station.With the minimum daily operating cost as the objective function,a study on the optimization of the daily operating cost was carried out.The results indicate that both particle swarm optimization(PSO)and genetic algorithms(GA)can effectively optimize pump unit start/stop sequences,flow distribution,and blade angles for different total water delivery requirements.The optimization results are similar,but PSO demonstrates a computational advantage.When the total daily water delivery volume is fixed,electricity pricing is the primary factor influencing the daily economic operating costs of the pumping station and the flow distribution among units at different times.The research findings provide a theoreti-cal basis and optimization strategies for the economic operation of pumping stations.
