Impact of Supply Air Temperature on Heating Performance of Vehicle CO2 Heat Pump System Under Different Operating Conditions

Abstract
CO2 is widely regarded as a preferred alternative refrigerant in cold regions due to its excellent low-temperature characteristics.This paper conducts bench tests to investigate the effects of varying ambient temperatures,indoor air volume,and indoor supply-air temperatures on the operating parameters of a CO2 heat pump system.It proposes a correlation that links optimal discharge pressure to the supply-air temperature.Additionally,a real vehicle experiment was conducted to assess the system's low-temperature heating performance.The results indicate that when maintaining the same indoor supply air temperature,ambient temperature has a greater impact on compressor power consumption than on the heating capacity required,particularly at higher ambient temperatures.Raising the supply air temperature from 45 ℃ to 60 ℃increases the average power consumption of the compressor by 29.8%and lower the coefficient of performance(COP)by 17.2%.Additionally,the vehicle's driving range declines by approximately 4.82%.At an ambient temperature of-15 ℃,increasing the indoor air volume from 160 m3/h to 350 m3/h improves the COP by 15.6%、12.8%、24.4%at supply air temperatures of 30、45、60 ℃,respectively.Across different low-temperature conditions and outdoor air velocities,the evaporator outlet temperature,gas cooler inlet temperature,evaporation temperature,and optimal discharge pressure all follow consistent trends.The proposed optimal fitting correlation shows only minor relative error.关键词
