Abstract

In the absence of ground truth,this study evaluates the uncertainty of five GPP products(VPM,Nirv,ANN,CLM4,and GTEC)across the conterminous United States using the generalized Three-Cornered Hat(TCH)method from different perspectives.The results show that:From 2000 to 2010,GPP in the northeastern and southeastern coastal regions of the conterminous United States declined,while GPP in the Midwest showed an increasing trend;Using the TCH method,the uncertainty of GPP across the conterminous United States was found to increase from west to east;The uncertainty distribution of different products in terms of latitude,longitude,and pixel ratio is closely related to the model types and parameter handling methods;GPP uncertainty is highest in boreal climates,while in arid and tropical climates,uncertainty is significantly influenced by the models'treatment of water stress and light intensity.The results emphasize the need for GPP models to comprehensively consider multiple factors under different geographical and climatic conditions to select appropriate construction methods.The generalized Three-Cornered Hat method provides an effective means for assessing the uncertainty of GPP products and other carbon flux products in the absence of ground truth.
