Professor Liu Yuxiang's experience in diagnosing and treating chronic cough with"Hidden Pathogen Expulsion Method"
摘要
Abstract
The etiology of chronic cough involves multiple systems,characterized by persistent and recurrent symptoms that are difficult to cure,severely affecting the patient's respiratory function and overall condition.Modern medicine often employs treatments such as expectorants,antitussives,and antihistamines.However,the number of effective drugs is limited,and the treatment duration is long with unclear efficacy.Therefore,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)can intervene in such diseases through its unique diagnostic and therapeutic thinking.Based on TCM theory and the clinical practice of experts,it has been found that chronic cough can be caused by"hidden pathogens".After external pathogens invade the body or pathological products like water,dampness,and phlegm accumulate and are not promptly expelled,they remain latent within the body,waiting to trigger symptoms.The"Expulsion Method"can be used in treatment to support the body's vital energy while expelling the pathogenic factors,effectively reducing the frequency of coughing and alleviating accompanying symptoms,leading to longer-lasting results.This review elaborates on the"Hidden Pathogen Expulsion Method"based on the understanding of both ancient and modern medical practitioners and related medical texts.By combining the theoretical and practical aspects with clinical case studies from the supervisor practice,this work provides a reference for the clinical treatment of chronic cough.关键词
