Abstract

Zn-Ag,Zn-Mg,and Zn-Ag-Mg alloys with different compositions were successfully fabricated via the hot extrusion process.The effects of trace alloying elements Ag and Mg on the microstructure,mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of zinc-based alloys were studied.The results show that the microstructures of both Zn-Mg and Zn-Ag-Mg alloys are composed of the Zn matrix phase and Mg2Zn11 phase.The comprehensive mechanical properties of Zn-Ag-Mg alloy are superior to those of Zn-Ag and Zn-Mg alloys.Its tensile yield strength,tensile strength,elongation after fracture,compressive yield strength,compressive strength and Vickers hardness reached 276.27 MPa,332.78 MPa,15.60%,208.33 MPa,423.11 MPa and 96.04,respectively.The Zn-Ag-Mg alloy exhibits good corrosion resistance.
