Abstract

The Langgu Sag has entered a stage with lithology or structural-lithologic oil and gas reservoirs as the primary targets.The insufficient understanding of the development and distribution of sand bodies has become a major issue restricting the evaluation and development of concealed oil and gas reservoirs at this stage.Therefore,the Wanzhuang area of the Shahejie Formation was studied,where the seismic data resolution is low;thin interbedded sand and mudstones are prevalent,and wave impedance overlap is severe.Based on forward modeling of seismic data and well log rock physics analysis,combined with seismic attribute analysis and waveform-indicated natural gamma simulation,favorable zones for sand body development in the Wanzhuang area were predicted.The results indicate that the attributes of maximum amplitude,root mean square(RMS)amplitude,average energy,total energy,standard amplitude deviation,and arc length can effectively indicate the development of sand bodies in the study area.Compared to traditional wave impedance inversion results,waveform-indicated simulation significantly improves the vertical and lateral resolution,and the inversion results better reflect the geological characteristics of thin interbedded sand and mudstones.A comprehensive prediction has identified 13 favorable zones for sandstone development in the study area.The predicted results can provide important references for subsequent studies on sedimentary microfacies,reservoir formation models,as well as well placement and trajectory optimization.
