Abstract

Because of significant advantages of light weight,good bending resistance,and high energy consumption,Concrete-Filled Double Skin Steel Tube(CFDST)is widely used in structures with high bending performance re-quirements,such as wind turbine towers,transmission towers,bridge piers,and offshore platform support columns.Firstly,based on the industry development needs of the construction waste resource utilization and high-perfor-mance building materials,and that the extensive use of high-strength steel and recycled aggregate concrete(RAC)in practical engineering can effectively reduce the consumption of steel and natural aggregates,a new type of com-posite component of Recycled Aggregate Concrete-Filled High-Strength Double-Skin Steel Tube(RAC-FHDST)with tapered hollow sandwich high-strength steel tube is proposed.Secondly,in order to clarify the necessity and urgency of studying the mechanical properties of this component,the research progress on the mechanical properties of ordinary CFDST,recycled concrete with hollow sandwich steel tube(RAC-FDST),and high-strength steel tube concrete with hollow sandwich(high-strength steel CFDST)was systematically reviewed and analyzed.The short-comings of existing research and the future research directions of the component were summarized.The research re-sults indicate that a systematic study has been conducted on the mechanical properties of ordinary CFDST and high hollow ratio CFDST components,but there are still significant deficiencies and a lack of relevant design methods in the study of tapered RAC-FHDST columns.The use of RAC has little effect on the failure mode of CFDST short columns and the ultimate bearing capacity of compression bending members.With good synergistic performance,high-strength steel and sandwich concrete can provide effective restraint for concrete.This research result can pro-vide important reference for the experimental design and theoretical analysis of conical RAC-FHDST columns,and has guiding significance for promoting the standardization and engineering application of the composite structure.
