摘要

Abstract

As the main load-bearing component of load-bearing bridges,cables are prone to produce harmful vibra-tions due to the large slenderness ratio,low damping level,and gentle dynamic characteristics.That installing me-chanical dampers at the ends of cable components is a common vibration reduction method.However,with the in-creases of cable components length,the vibration reduction effect of the mechanical dampers installed at the ends gradually weakens so that there is an urgent need to develop a vibration reduction device without limitation of instal-lation position.Considering a vertical suspension cable,a vibration reduction devices that combines a rigid frame with a tuned mass damper was proposed.Firstly,a discrete dynamic equation for the cable-vibration redaction device was established.The influence of parameters such as installation position and mass ratio of the proposed devices on the vibration response of the cable was analyzed through numerical simulation.Secondly,wind tunnel tests were conducted to verify the control effect of the device on cable vibration under average wind speed with a scaled model.Both the numerical analysis and experimental results indicate that the vibration redaction device can effectively sup-press the vibration response of cable components,the outstanding advantage is not limited by installation position and number,and can effectively suppress the vibration response of adjacent cables under different loads.
