摘要

Abstract

Objective Using electron beam irradiation to prepare multifunctional medical zwitterionic hydrogels with antibacterial and anti-biofouling properties along with biocompatibility,aiming to meet the application demands of biomedical materials in wound dressings and other fields.Methods A two-step irradiation technique was used to pre-polymerize methacryloyloxyethyl sulfobetaine(SBMA)into poly(sul-fobetaine methacrylate)(PSBMA).Using poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)and PSBMA as matrices,silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)were intro-duced to prepare the PVA/PSBMA/AgNPs hydrogel through a combination of freeze-thaw cycles and electron beam radiation crosslinking.The component structure,elemental distribution,and interaction mechanisms were characterized through FTIR and XPS analyses so as to fur-ther evaluate the properties including gel fraction,swelling ratio,hydrophilicity,in vitro antibacterial activity,anti-biofouling efficacy,and bio-compatibility.Results At a radiation dose of 20 kGy,the PVA/PSBMA hydrogel achieved a gel fraction of 84.04%,indicating optimal crosslinking efficiency.When loaded with 3 mL of AgNPs solution,the hydrogel exhibited optimal antibacterial performance along with favor-able swelling capacity and hydrophilicity.Additionally,the protein adsorption was as low as 4.38 μg/cm2;the MTT assay showed cell viabili-ty above 90%,and live/dead cell staining revealed no significant cytotoxicity.Conclusion The zwitterionic PVA/PSBMA/AgNPs composite hydrogel prepared through the two-step radiation technique has good antibacterial efficacy,robust anti-biofouling properties,and excellent biocompatibility,and is expected to become a novel high-performance wound dressing.
